Cyclic Materials

Cyclic Materials recovers rare earth elements and critical materials from end-of-life products using proprietary recycling technologies, with facilities in Ontario and Arizona.

Cyclic Materials is a cleantech company that recovers rare earth elements and other critical materials from end-of-life products. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Toronto, Canada, it applies advanced recycling technologies to magnet-containing waste streams, supplying high-purity recycled Mixed Rare Earth Oxides (rMREO) to a market in which more than 90% of rare earth element processing is concentrated overseas.

The company's two proprietary technologies are MagCycle®, which recovers rare earth elements from waste streams such as EV motors, wind turbine generators, hard disk drives, MRI machines, robotics and drones, and REEPure℠, which transforms that waste into high-purity recycled Mixed Rare Earth Oxides. The work spans rare earth element recycling, hydrometallurgical processing and circular economy supply chains, with end markets including electric vehicles, wind energy, data storage, healthcare, robotics, defense, AI infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

Operations run from facilities in Ontario and Arizona, with expansion underway in South Carolina and a stated focus on building resilient domestic supply chains in North America. Cyclic Materials raised $75m in Series C funding, with strategic backing from investors including Microsoft, Amazon and BMW i Ventures.
