Radius Recycling collects, processes and exports recycled metals and manufactures steel products from scrap across nearly 100 facilities in North America.
Radius Recycling is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of recycled metal products in North America, collecting, processing, and delivering recycled metals worldwide. The company operates nearly 100 facilities across 26 US states and two Canadian provinces, with deep water export operations on the East Coast, the West Coast and in Hawaii. Its technical work spans scrap metal collection and processing, metals recycling, steel manufacturing, auto parts recycling and export logistics.
Radius Recycling converts recycled scrap into steel products including rebar, wire rod and specialty steel, supplying American manufacturing. Through its Pick-n-Pull retail used auto parts business, the company also receives vehicles for recycling and parts resale across 50 stores, drawing more than 4.1 million annual retail visits. Operations extend to Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
The business traces its origins to 1906 in Portland, Oregon, where Sam Schnitzer, a Russian immigrant, founded the Alaska Junk Company as a one-man scrap operation. It has since grown into a comprehensive recycling enterprise working across the collection, processing, manufacturing and export stages of the metals supply chain, with a stated focus on resource recovery and reducing environmental impact.
