EBC

EBC is a family-owned Canadian construction company working in civil engineering, building and industrial projects, with about 1,600 staff and roughly 760 projects completed since 1968.

EBC is a family-owned Canadian construction company founded in 1968 by brothers Fernand Houle and Germain Houle as Entreprises Bon Conseil. Nearly six decades on, the firm employs approximately 1,600 professionals across seven offices and has completed roughly 760 projects with a combined value of about $22 billion. It works from preconstruction planning through to after-sales service, applying design-build and construction management methodologies.

The company operates through three divisions. Civil Engineering covers infrastructure such as bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, wharves and piers. Building Construction handles institutional, commercial and residential projects. Industrial Projects spans mining and metals, renewable energy - including hydroelectric, wind, batteries and hydrogen - and sustainable waste management. Its technical range runs from civil engineering and industrial construction to quality management systems, and it pioneered ISO 9001 certification in 1992.

EBC maintains offices in Québec City, Montréal and Brossard in Québec; Ottawa, Mississauga and Timmins in Ontario; and Vancouver in British Columbia, with work also in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Leadership combines continued family involvement - Marie-Claude Houle serves as Executive Chair of the Board, with Ghyslain Deschamps as President and CEO - and a stated set of principles drawn from the Houle family: quality workmanship, respect and integrity. The company reports active collaboration with Indigenous communities through jobs, training opportunities and subcontracting partnerships, and cites rigorous standards for safety, quality and environmental protection.
