Amsted Automotive

Amsted Automotive designs, engineers, and produces electrified and advanced propulsion systems, metal-formed components, and assemblies for global automotive, off-highway, and mining OEMs and startups. The company operates 21 facilities across North America, Europe, and Asia, 13 of them in the United States, producing over 200 million components and assemblies annually. Manufacturing locally in the customer's region is positioned as a way to reduce tariff exposure and supply delays.

Technical work spans metal-forming and cold-forming, powder metallurgy, drivetrain design and engineering, and electro-mechanical clutch design, the last of which is recognised as a leadership area in both EV and ICE drivetrains. The product portfolio covers electrified, hybrid and internal combustion propulsion and powertrain systems, electro-mechanical clutches, and metal-formed and powder metal components and assemblies.

Amsted Automotive was formed in 2021 through the integration of century-old manufacturers, including Burgess-Norton (est. 1903) and Means Industries (est. 1922), along with businesses added in 1997 and 2004. It serves established OEMs as well as startups across the automotive, off-highway, mining, and electric-vehicle sectors.
